It is important to note that TEEP application process is now rigid. The change in operation commenced between June and December 2019 during TEF-UNDP application for TEF-UNDP Sahel Region Entrepreneurship program which is only focused on Northern Nigeria.
Some of the changes in the modus operandi include:
The application would be made via the website, www.tefconnect.com. However, no selection will be made (In previous years, winners are announced after this stage).
Your application, commencing from your bio and the rest would be graded. This would determine those who would undergo training and mentoring.
The selected few will be graded. This was not done before.
Those who scale through the training and mentorship would be required to make a live presentation. This is a new development.
They are required to attend the entrepreneurship forum
After necessary documentation, seed capital of $5000 will be awarded to them
They will then be added to the alumni.
This new process only proves that only the hard and smart workers will be beneficiaries of TEEF. Selection for the online training and mentorship is greatly determined by what you score in the TEF assessment. Accenture International is in charge of grading applicants. Your bio, personality tests. Financial knowledge, etc are what would be graded. The personality test helps to determine your business and leadership style. The financial knowledge tests your understanding of simple and complex business ideologies, terms etc.
Your inputs and answers about your business, personality, financial knowledge etc would help grade you into one of the following:
Level 1 – Greenhorn:
It identifies you as a startup. This qualifies you for the TEF connect training only but not mentorship neither the reward.
Level 2 – Innovator:
This identifies you as an intermediate in the business world. You stand a chance of being mentored, pitching your idea and getting the seed capital of $5000 if you perform exceptionally well in the intermediate training module you will be placed.
Level 3 – Disruptor:
This identifies you as an experienced entrepreneur. You will get a slot at the advance training and have a mentor allocated to you. Your performance will determine if you will get a chance to pitch your business in person and win the seed capital.
It is worthy to note that a mail will be sent to you after you have been grouped. Only Innovators and Disruptors have a chance of winning the $5000 seed capital. Greenhorn would only get trained on TEF Connect.
