The primary and only document that attests to your Nigerian citizenship is the Nigerian International Passport (e-passport).

Additionally, it serves as identity and is a crucial piece of documentation for foreign travel. The international passport is processed by the Nigerian Immigration Service.

The following benefits are included with the new international passport:

  • 10-year maximum validity
  • monitoring of visa applications on one’s own
  • improved toughness thanks to polycarbonate technology
  • weather-friendliness

Here are the current official prices of the Nigerian international passport based on the number of pages and validity period:

  1. 64-page Nigeria International Passport (10 years validity) == N70,000
  2. 64-page Nigeria International Passport (5 years validity) == N35,000
  3. 32-page Nigeria International Passport (5 years validity) == N25,000

Unfortunately, getting an international passport at these official fees is almost unattainable for the typical Nigerian. Currently, Nigerians who want a passport must pay the following unofficial fees:

  1. 64-page Nigeria International Passport (10 years validity) == N150,000 – N250,000
  2. 64-page Nigeria International Passport (5 years validity) == N80,000 – N150,000
  3. 32-page Nigeria International Passport (5 years validity) == N60,000 – N100,000

Your location, your level of “connection,” and how quickly you need your passport to be completed and ready for collection are just a few of the variables that will affect how much (informal pricing) you pay for your passport.
